Ming Yang Attends 2025 Offshore Wind Power Conference: Empowering the Deep Blue Future with Floating Wind Power Innovation
-
Date: 2025.06.21

Data shows that nearly 80% of the world's offshore wind energy resources are located in deep-sea areas with water depths exceeding 60 meters. The technical exploitable wind energy resources in China's nearshore areas with water depths ranging from 5 to 50 meters are 500GW, while the exploitable wind energy resources in deep-sea areas are 3 to 4 times that of the nearshore areas. It is crucial to fully tap into the potential of offshore wind power and deeply develop the wind energy resources in deep-sea areas. Therefore, this conference has set deep-sea wind power technology innovation as an important topic.
Liu Lianyu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Ming Yang Group, said in his speech that the future of global offshore wind power lies in deep-sea areas. To promote the large-scale development of deep-sea wind power, it is necessary to focus on technological and scenario innovation in areas such as unit enlargement, floating wind power, and integrated offshore energy utilization, which will drive cost reduction and efficiency improvement in deep-sea wind power. Regarding the development of offshore wind power in Liaoning Province, Liu Lianyu believes that Liaoning has a strong industrial base and talent advantages, and can become an important global offshore wind power industry center by driving industrial development through project development.
At the conference, Ming Yang experts also shared a themed report on "Innovative Applications and Trends of Floating Wind Turbines under Deep-Sea Environmental Challenges." So far, five offshore floating wind power projects have been put into operation in China, three of which use Ming Yang wind turbine equipment. From the world's first typhoon-resistant floating wind turbine "Three Gorges Leading" to the country's first "double hundred" floating wind turbine "Guanlan Hao.", and then to the world's largest single-capacity dual-rotor floating wind power platform "OceanX", Ming Yang has continuously led the innovation and demonstration of floating wind power technology, promoting the reduction of the unit kilowatt construction cost of offshore floating wind turbines and continuously expanding the boundaries of deep-sea wind energy development.
During the conference, Ming Yang also participated in the strategic cooperation ceremony of the "World Wind Power Industry Center Advanced Equipment Manufacturing Leader Plan" with upstream and downstream parties in the industry chain, and attended the unveiling ceremony of the Energy Storage Construction Branch of the China Electric Power Construction Enterprise Association and the strategic cooperation ceremony for building a world-class energy storage industry cluster in Liaoning. Ming Yang has contributed to promoting the development of offshore wind power and advanced energy storage industries and helping regional economic transformation and upgrading.
For more than 30 years, Ming Yang has adhered to the independent research and development of core technologies and continuously led the innovation and practice of semi-direct drive, typhoon resistance, large megawatt, floating, and three-dimensional development of marine economy in offshore wind power. In the future, Ming Yang will continue to leverage its "leadership" advantages, deepen the research and development of offshore wind power products and technology, and promote the high-quality development of the offshore wind power industry.
