Ming Yang Smart Energy and ACWA Power Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement

Date: 2025.11.05
As the 9th Future Investment Initiative (FII9) concluded successfully in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Ming Yang Smart Energy, and Saudi utility developer ACWA Power have formally signed a strategic-cooperation framework agreement. Centered on “localised manufacturing + integrated energy + joint development,” the two sides will create a flagship China-Saudi new-energy project that injects strong momentum into Saudi Vision 2030 and the worldwide green transition.

A global pioneer in wind-power innovation, Ming Yang will give priority to supplying ACWA Power’s wind developments with cutting-edge technology and customised products. Leveraging world-class capabilities in turbine design, smart O&M and wind-resource assessment, Ming Yang will help ACWA Power further cut the levelised cost of electricity and lift long-term project profitability, propelling Middle-East wind development from “scale expansion” to “high-quality growth.”

On localised industrial layout, the partners will focus on building new-energy supply chains across the Middle East and Central Asia, jointly advancing Ming Yang’s local manufacturing system in the regions. Key components—wind turbines, large composite blades and core electrical equipment—will be produced locally, providing ACWA Power’s regional projects with a “close-to-site, high-efficiency” supply chain while stimulating local advanced manufacturing and cultivating a talent pool, delivering a two-way boost of “project development + industrial upgrading.”

Notably, the two sides will also deepen cooperation in integrated energy. Drawing on proven technologies and project experience in “wind + storage,” “green-power hydrogen production” and “power-hydrogen-ammonia-methanol integration,” Ming Yang will work with ACWA Power to plan and build large integrated-energy bases in the Middle East, exploring a “wind-solar-storage-hydrogen-ammonia” multi-energy complementary model and offering a full-chain, integrated solution for regional energy-structure transformation.

In addition, the partnership will achieve a breakthrough in “two-way investment”: ACWA Power intends to team up with Ming Yang to develop wind projects and make related new-energy investments in China, promoting two-way flows of technology, capital and markets and forging a “globally coordinated, mutually beneficial” cooperation ecosystem.

Mohammad Abunayyan, Chairman of ACWA Power, said the strategic cooperation with Ming Yang will accelerate clean-energy technology innovation and industrial deployment in the Middle East and Central Asia, further consolidating ACWA Power’s global green-energy leadership and contributing to regional sustainable development.

Zhang Chuanwei, Founder and Chairman of Ming Yang Group, noted that the deal is an important practice of Chinese new-energy technology and equipment “going global” and a landmark result of deepening China-Saudi energy cooperation. Ming Yang will seize the opportunity to keep exporting world-leading new-energy solutions, support high-quality renewable-energy development in the Middle East and Central Asia.

ACWA Power, headquartered in Saudi Arabia, is a large multinational energy company active in 15 countries with more than 110 power, water-desalination and renewable-energy assets, and is a major global clean-energy developer. Ming Yang Smart Energy is a world-leading provider of new-energy equipment and energy-internet solutions, covering wind, solar, storage and hydrogen, and has delivered green-energy services to dozens of countries and regions. The alliance of the two heavyweights will set a new benchmark for global clean-energy cooperation.
