“Mingyu No.1” Successfully Harvests Third Season Farming Demonstration!

Date: 2025.09.18
On September 16th, the world’s first hybrid integrated equipment combining a jacket foundation wind turbine with an aquaculture net cage, “Mingyu No.1”, successfully completed the third season’s demonstration fish harvest. This milestone marks the successful exploration of a multi-species polyculture model and the transition from large-scale farming to cultivating high-value species, offering a new practical demonstration and data support for the innovative “green energy + blue granary” model.

The third season focused on demonstrating polyculture of several high-value species. Through an intelligent cloud-based farming platform, aquaculture engineers closely monitored the growth and behavior of the mixed schools. By means of smart management and precision feeding, they adjusted nutrition for different species, water layers, and growth stages, establishing a stratified multi-species polyculture model and accumulating valuable hands-on experience.

This season yielded roughly 40,000 jin (about 20 t) of adult fish, including golden pompano, grouper, crimson snapper, and other premium species. Since its deployment in 2023, “Mingyu No.1” has operated steadily, registering successful harvests for three consecutive seasons. It has progressed from proving farming feasibility to scaling up production and now to exploring high-value polyculture, while simultaneously supporting multiple marine research projects. This three-dimensional ocean-development model—integrating wind-power generation, aquaculture production, scientific innovation, and ecological monitoring—is gradually becoming a replicable, scalable template for green, low-carbon marine economic development.

As a global leader in new energy, Ming Yang Group will continue to pioneer disruptive technologies in offshore wind, deep-sea floating wind, offshore wind-to-hydrogen, and wind-fish integration, while promoting demonstrations of green-power hydrogen/ammonia/methanol, integrated marine energy islands, and zero-carbon industrial parks, injecting strong “blue momentum” into China’s comprehensive marine-energy development and high-quality marine economy growth.
