Former U.S. Secretary of Energy and Nobel Laureate in Physics Steven Chu Visits Ming Yang Group

On October 12, Steven Chu, the 12th U.S. Secretary of Energy, Nobel Prize laureate in Physics, and Chief Scientist of the U.S.-China Green Energy Council, along with Brian Schmidt, Nobel Prize laureate in Physics, Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science, and former Vice-Chancellor of the Australian National University, visited Ming Yang Group. They engaged in in-depth discussions with Zhang Chuanwei, founder and Chairman of Ming Yang Group, and Zhang Qiying, President of Ming Yang Group’s International Business Line.
Zhang Chuanwei extended a warm welcome to Steven Chu, Brian Schmidt, and their delegation. He noted that over the past 30 years, Ming Yang has remained committed to independent innovation and manufacturing, evolving into a world-leading wind turbine manufacturer and provider of comprehensive clean energy solutions. Throughout this journey, Ming Yang has also played a pioneering role in advancing China’s new energy development. With deep technological and innovative expertise in the clean energy sector, Ming Yang remains dedicated to driving global energy transformation and contributing to green development worldwide.
Steven Chu expressed admiration for Ming Yang’s innovations in offshore wind power. He highlighted that Ming Yang has successfully launched a series of high-capacity wind turbines and established a comprehensive new energy industrial chain encompassing wind, solar, energy storage, hydrogen, and fuel technologies. Its achievements in carbon fiber blade research and production place it at the forefront of the global industry. He wished Ming Yang “continued success in the new energy sector.”
Brian Schmidt remarked that the scale and ambition of Ming Yang’s development in the new energy field are impressive. He congratulated Ming Yang on its numerous achievements to date, particularly in hydrogen energy and space-based energy innovations. He encouraged Ming Yang to “remain steadfast in its vision and ambition—the world needs Ming Yang’s strength.”
It is reported that the U.S.-China Green Energy Council was established in 2008 and is dedicated to building a high-level international exchange and cooperation platform between China and the U.S. in green energy development and climate change mitigation.
Also present at the meeting were Wang Qi, President of the U.S.-China Green Energy Council; Wang Jinfa, Executive Director of Ming Yang Group’s Central Research Institute; and Cao Renjing, Chief Scientist of Ming Yang Group.
